Doobiety explores the space between how things appear and the deeper intentions they can hold.

Our name is inspired by dubiety (a word rooted in uncertainty, doubt, and ambiguity) and intentionally misspelled to reflect how meaning shifts when it’s seen from a different angle. That idea sits at the core of everything we create. What looks simple, funny, or familiar at first glance often carries something more underneath.

Through graphic tees featuring our playful 1930s cartoon-style characters, Doobiety brings common phrases, ideas, and assumptions into new context. These characters act out concepts that are usually viewed one way, inviting the viewer to pause, question, and interpret them differently. Humor draws you in—but reflection is what stays.

This approach mirrors real life. People, emotions, and experiences are rarely as straightforward as they appear. Mental health in particular is often misunderstood, oversimplified, or reduced to surface-level labels. Doobiety exists to challenge that kind of thinking and create space for nuance, curiosity, and conversation.

That’s why a portion of every purchase goes toward Emotions Matter, focused on mental health advocacy and Borderline Personality Disorder research. BPD is frequently misrepresented, yet deeply complex—much like the themes behind our designs. Supporting research and awareness is our way of contributing to a better understanding of what’s happening beneath the surface.
